Remember New Zealand 2006(no 3)

From Foxton  following the State Highway,  the next we saw was the snow covered Mount Raupehu. The clouds opened a bit and we could see the snow covered mountain top.

Then we went on north to Lake Taupa.

This is just to show how green and beautiful the landscape is.

Lake Taupo is a lake situated in the North Island of New Zealand. With a surface area of 616 square kilometres (238 sq mi), it is thelargest lake by surface area in New Zealand, and the second largest freshwater lake by surface area in geopolitical Oceania after Lake Murray (Papua New Guinea) ..wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_Taupo

It was already getting late and dark when we passed Lake Taupo. Next stop was Cambridge and a good nights rest!

Next I will show some pictures from and around Cambridge and Hamelton.
