Today was a clear day and I could take some photos of

the snow-covered peaks of the Rimutakas near where I live.

The Rimutaka Range (often called the Rimutakas) is one of several mountain ranges in the North Island of New Zealand that form a ridge running parallel with the east coast between East Cape and Wellington. The ridge is at its most pronounced in the southern part, where it consists of the Ruahine, Tararua, and Rimutaka Ranges.

Black and white: Foggy morning

The last few days were very wet and foggy.

I had to pick up my family at the Wellington Airport at 11:58pm

Friday night.

The first part of the way that runs next to the river was very foggy.

The last few mornings were like this.

Oh what a beautiful morning!

After all the havoc the weather left behind since last week , yesterday was a beautiful day.

It was very cold and frosty early in the morning.

 

 

2013 first snow!

Well, here we are,

suddenly in a full blast of snow.

I visited my friend at the foot of the Rimutaka Hills

Guess what?

There was some snow along the road side and

some snow on the roof and lawn of my friend’s place.

On the lawn and if you look at the trees on right hand side you can see a bit of snow

on the branches.
