On the way back to Wellington we stopped at a Restaurant/cafe.
This elegant creature was terrorizing all the birds on the lawn
A real beauty!
We also stopped at the HUKA Waterfal
A few hundred metres upstream from the Huka Falls, the Waikato River narrows from approximately 100 metres across into a narrow canyon only 15 metres across. The canyon is carved into lake floor sediments laid down before Taupo’s Oruanui eruption 26,500 years ago.
The volume of water flowing through often approaches 220,000 litres per second.
Next stop is back in Wellington. I’ll have some interesting photos from in and around Wellington in the following Remember New Zealand 2006.
See you next time!
