POST NO 900!!!
Table runner for the Sawmiller’s Quilt Festival
February 9, 2014
Yesterday i decided I’ll make a runner for the competition.
You must use at least one Sawtooth block.
Measurements of runner: 105cm x 43cm.
Finished runner
My runner has 3 x sawtooth blocks.
Is dit ‘n kompetisie?
Ja, dis waarom dit seker afmetings en patroon moet he. Hul het elke jaar iets anders.
Dis pragtig!
Dankie. Die voel is n Tui end die blomme is die NZ Kersfees boomblom
Beautiful bird fabric. Tui?
Yes, it is our dear Tui’s and the NZ Christmas tree(don’t know its name!)
Pohutukawa – I used to have a variegated one in my garden. Much admired, but now it is only a stick. 😦
Oh no, why did it dye? Is it to hot+/ dry there? It seems that they also do not grow everywhere here too.
I think it was neglected, but it was quite old. I noticed it never reached the heights that the original tree did in NZ. It was variegated so maybe it was a weaker specimen.
I see! 🙂
Wow, this is pretty.
We are now returning to all “old fashion” hand made product… I love that my house is starting to be full of lovely hand created unique items… and there is always room for more
Thank you! There is something special about hand made things especially if you made it yourself
This runner is just lovely – the colours are exquisite and the focus on NZ birds and flowers is beautiful. Thank you so much for the photos of the backing and how you put it together. I will revist this post when I do the backing on a quilt I am making for my granddaughter.
Just ask again and I’ll show you. It is easy to assemble as soon as the patchwork is done.
