Soulful eyes

Looking at these wild animals in captivity is

painful.

They keep on walking in a line up and down the same small stretch of path.

Up and down, up and down.

Giraffes have soft soulful  eyes

They are so beautiful and proud when walking around.

  1. I remember seeing a big city zoo in the 1960’s…it was like a prison, and it was there I understood the definition of “squalid”. Zoos are better today than back then, but it’s still sad that animals have to be taken from their homelands and put on display.

  2. It is a shame they live in zoos. I know zoos play a role in animal life, but I do wish they could survive in the wild and have a ‘normal’ life.

  3. What a great post. I see what you mean about their eyes. They are so lovely – like you say though, they look sad, even though they have probably never known a wild environment. How lucky are their cousins who roam freely in places like Kruger and other wild places in Africa.
