This week

Jake gave the following challenge
FOCUSED ATTENTION
Every morning when Trompie and I are walking our rounds we meet some cats.
First it was Buddy – we are good friends now.
Next came Noopy, he also lives with Buddy.
He was always very “catty” to Trompie but
We are friends now.
He comes to us and greets us.
Here he has FOCUSED ATTENTION
on Trompie because They do not really trust each other.
They trust me!
Now for the real focus!
There is also a new white cat with a bell around its neck.
He always wants to stalk Trompie and Trompie hates it.
The cat does not know it, but we hear him coming all the time.
As soon as Trompie focuses his attention on the cat
The cat will sit down and wait till we turn around!
We go around the street and come back the other side of the road and
again mister will charge at Trompie.
Then again as soon as the
FOCUSED ATTENTION
is on him he will sit or hide behind a tree.
To beam, grin, smirk or twinkle. We all have photos of people smiling and we all have photos that make us smile. Share a photo with us and make next week Smiley Week for the A Word A Week Challenge. Once a week I dip into my Old English Dictionary and pick a word that it opens at. Any genre you choose to express yourself in is welcome although most people seem to use photography but we have had some wonderful poems and written work as well.
Remember I will reblogg some of the entries each week. Just add to your tags ‘A Word A Week Photo Challenge’ and please add a link back to this page so others can find us and look at the amazing posts you all produce.

Little miss Molly loves to smile!
LOVE
Love me tender,
Love me sweet,
Never let me go.
You have made my life complete,
And I love you so.
IF THIS ISN’T LOVE …

Whether you’re a beginner or a professional, you’re invited to get involved in our Weekly Photo Challenge to help you meet your blogging goals and give you another way to take part in Post a Day / Post a Week. Everyone is welcome to participate, even if your blog isn’t about photography.
Here’s how it works:

2. To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “Weekly Photo Challenge: (theme of the week)” and be sure to use the “postaday″ tag.

Last year, our native Falcon or Sparrow Hawk (Falco novaeseelandiae), known to the Maori people as Kārearea was nominated New Zealand’s bird of the year.
As luck or good planning would have it, we Steve Richards and myself had been planning a trip to the Bay of Plenty to photograph the New Zealand Dotterels and then onto the Firth of Thames to visit the Miranda shore bird centre and on the way home we would be passing through Rotorua, the home of the Wingspan Bird of Prey Centre, a place best described in their own words as
“a place where people can visit and see birds of prey up close during interactive flying displays, hosted by the country’s leading experts.
The displays showcase the spectacular flying skills of these amazing birds and are a unique educational experience enjoyed by children and adults alike”.
Well if you do indeed want to…
